Price escalation under PMRP-2004 project on Transmission and Distribution network

Prime Minister Reconstruction Plan-2004 for the State of J&K was announced by Hon'ble PM during his visit to the State on 17-18th November, 2004.  The transmission system covered under PMRP-2004 for PDD, J&K includes construction of 73 projects of 220 kV and 132 kV lines and associated substations, augmentation of existing substations and re-conductoring of existing lines etc. in both Jammu & Kashmir region of J&K in order to improve the transmission network for efficient transmission of power generated within the State as well as power received from neighboring States.
The original estimated cost of transmission system covered under PMRP-2004 is about Rs. 1351 crores (Rs.615 crores for Jammu region and Rs. 736 crores for Kashmir region) which was subsequently revised to Rs 1545.56 Crore. The cost escalation of Rs. 194.56 cr (Rs. 1545.56 crores - Rs. 1351 crores) for T&D projects is included under PMDP-2015 and is 100% funded from budget head of Ministry of Power. Sanction order was issued by MoP on 31.03.2017 The execution of work is being done by Power Development Department of J&K (JKPDD), while CEA is acting as technical consultant and monitoring the progress of the work
